ice cap 660 and t5 lamp spectrum shift?

So I recently purchased 2 x 39w ati purple plus lamps which I had wired into an ice cap 660. The ballast fires them up just fine, but the color is way off. I have seen other ati purple plus lamps in ati fixtures which gives off a magenta/purplish color. Mine are almost bright white with my 660. Is the 660 over driving the lamps? Any input anyone?

Yes, it is the result of over driving. The color is significantly more white.

i beleive the icecap ballast's power the 39 watt bulbs to something like 50 watts. but as stated it ill make the bulbs more white in color

OK all....I Bought A Sylvania Ballast To Fire 2 X 39w T5 lamps. Still the same color,not purple at all,Although I have no other lamps to compare them to......Although my thoughts?
