Ice Cap Ballast Issue...help

SO, was sitting here and I hear a high pitch wistle...go to tank determine it is coming from ballast...unit feels about 10 degrees warmer than the other ballast and there is odor coming from ballast of electical short

I obviously turned the lights off, but what the heck is wrong with this ballast

They are about 20 minutes from me in Hamilton, NJ

Which ballast 660?

You might just want to buy a new ballast. There isn't that much difference in price between what they will charge you to fix your ballast compared to the cost of a new one.

How old is the ballast? Mine did something similar about a year out of warranty. I shipped them my ballast and they sent me a new one (rebuilt) at no cost to me.
