Ice cap k2-120 review

I have been eye balling these skimmers since they came out and finally pulled the trigger one the k2-120 model last week and couldn't be happier. It is built rock solid, has a lot of nice features, is near silent, and started producing skim in less then 12 hours.

A little tank info
Red Sea max E 170 w/ sump (started as an all in one tank)
Approximately 40-45 gallons of water volume.
I would consider the tank to be on the heavier side bioload wise.
I don't dose anything
Fish are fed once a day and corals are fed 1-2 times per week.

On to the pics

This is 8 days worth of skim

All cleaned up and back in action

And here is a full tank shot.

So how would you rate this skimmer compared to other skimmers you've used previously? Would you recommend this one over the others? what do you like about it so much? build quality? is the cup held on by friction or twist off from the neck?

Looking to buy my first skimmer for 80g total volume but there are so many different brands, models with price ranging all crazy.

There are other reviews on the K2 line if you do a search, not a lot, but some. Every review I've read seems very positive with a user recommendation to buy. I think the fact that it uses a stock Sicce pump instead of a modified Sicce, is a big bonus. Everyone raves about the build quality also.

I plan to buy the 160 for a new build in a few months.

I'm using the 160 on my tank. It works just fine. It's been running on my tank for the last four months. It skim's like crazy. It's built very well and I couldn't recommend it more.
