Icecap 3K gyre or upgrade XF-130 to advanced controller?

Hey All,

My MaxSpect XF-130 controller bit the dust last night after I shut it off for feeding (and back on). Coralvue got back to me quick, and said I need a new one most likely. I bought the XF-130 back in 2015, but only first installed it new this year, so I'm out of warranty.

So I'm deciding on either getting a new controller, and risk the pump being bad anyway (or going bad later), or I could just get a brand new IceCap 3K for the same price as the controller.

The things that are most important to me:
1. Quiet
2. Reliable

I assume it's going to work as expected, so that's not even on the list.

Is it worth keeping my XF-130 over the Icecap 3k? Or are they pretty much the same?

I could also just get an XF230 pump/controller combo, and do dual gyre pumps with my XF130, and in the case the 130 is bad, then I'm ok anyway?

You could also go onto Coralvue's website and buy the original controller for $70 under the parts section, Maxspect gyre parts.
