I am interested in purchasing your IceCap 72" hood however I would like to clear a few thing up first.

1) Can I substitue in any IceCap MH ballast in any combination as long as it doesn't exceed 3?
2) If I don't order fans with the hood will there still be slots for me to install my own or will I have to modify the hood in some way?
3) What is the maximum number of Vho bulbs I can mount?

Hi,

Yes, you can choose any ballsts you want with the PFO/Icecap halide hood. You can have standard, electronic, mix, different wattages, etc. So you can custom make this just about anyway you can think of.

On the fans, if you do not order fans, they will have vents instead. If you plan on adding a fans later though, just give us special instructions to have PFO cut the holes for them and leave it open instead of there stock vents.

On the VHO, the most you can fit inside the hood is 2. They can put 2 on the outside of the hood, but it looks strange. WOuld be fine if the hood is hidden.

thanks

Thank u for the prompt response and info. I will be sure to shop premium as I have heard nothing, but good things.

Also can i suspend the hood from the ceilling? Also a friend of mine who is also looking into upgrading his lighting wants to know what do u do with the hood if u don't have a canopy and want to elevated a few inches above the water?

Hi,

Yes, these hoods are designed to hang. They come with Eye bolts and you use your own chain, or use there steel hanger for 29.95 and it's a nice neat cable with a slider so you can move it up and down easy, pretty slick.

For your friend, if he doesn't want to hang it, which we highly recommend, the only option is some boards across your tank and then sitting it on the boards. Just make sure they are secured someway. So that is an option, but doesn't look the best. Ideally though having this hood a good 8" or higher from your tank will make the tank look very bright and keep heat issues down.

thanks

jason
