icecap inc not responding

Is IceCap still in business? Last week I sent in a 660 ballast for repair and have not heard back from them. When I call, nobody answers the phone. I searched this site and others are having the same problems. In the meantime, I'm thinking of purchasing a new ballast in case I never get mine back. My 150g reef has been running only one ballast for a week(usually 2 ballasts with 6 total 80watt bulbs). I've been running 3 80watt t-5 lights and the other three need a replacement ballast. What ballast can I buy to replace the IceCap 660? I don't want to buy another IceCap ballast if they company is going downhill. What brands are good and where can I get them? I need 1 ballast to run 3 80watt t-5 lights. Any thoughts?

Check out the icecap forums, if I recall they had some staffing issues (employe of XX years left & trained a replacement, the replacement didn't work out) & they are also moving I believe.

They make awesome stuff....... check out their forum on this site, hopefully you will get more info there

I heard IceCap was going out of business, a reputable LFS in Socal confirmed. I've stopped buying IceCap everything. Recent purchacse went with Lumatek ballast.

This ARO ballast is a better ballast IMO versus Ice Cap 660 for VHO T12 bulbs. I have used it and it worked great but WOW did it go up in price. Not sure it is such a good buy anymore. I got mine for $129.95. Now, it is $260.

i have had 2 of hellolights aro overdriving ballasts both go bad in less than a year. the 2nd one hello lights didnt even want it sent back in they just gave me a 150 store gift certificate.

Even if Icecap makes it, I don't think they will be the same company that we knew and loved.

$260 seems a bit much for the hello lights ballast. Where did you get a lumatek ballast? What other options do I have to replace the icecap 660?
