ich and mushrooms??

question.....



my local fish place...has some ich in their tanks...all the tanks get the same water...so each tank uses the same filtration system...etc...



they have some blue/purplish mushrooms that i want...he said he is treating tanks..but i know how the ich parasites life cycle is..



so my dilemma is..i want the mushrooms..but am worried about contaminating my tank with free floating ich parasite then it gets on my fish...

i know from my readings that the parasite is sensitive to HYPOsalinitity..so should i dip or let the new mushrooms set in plain r/o water for a period of time like 10 minutes????????????????

Hyposalinity for any extended ammount of time would probably kill the coral!

10 minutes is kind of alot... I would aclimate the shroom a little first, then drain the LFS water, then put it in ro/di water and swish it around for, say 30 seconds? then back into clean salt for a while. Then back into new ro/di water for another 30 seconds
