ICH, cupramine treatment, or Hypo

I got ICH...

I think I am leaning more to the cupramine treatment over Hypo.

SO question is (yes I all rdy searched and saw this http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-08/sp/index.php)

What is a good solution to use seachem, korden, ETC...

Should I use straight copper? or a mix

and what should be my final concentration? .3 or .5


What have your experiences been like? I would like to do Hypo but from what I have seen copper seems to work better and quick and all of the time.

Hypo is also cheaper


Should I be doing water changes with hypo or copper if all my perms are 0

I use straight copper and never mix with cheleted copper.

If your parameters are good, you do not need to change water in QT more often than in DT. You must have efficient nitrification, meaning you have a well-cycled medium used in filtration, in QT for parameters to be zero.

If ich is your only disease concern in QT (say you do not have concurrent bacteria infection), you should have no problem ridding a QT of ammonia if you had planned in advance and cycled the medium for QT very well in advance of getting any fish. Drugs to treat bacteria infection affect nitrification to various degrees.

To reduce that chance for concurrent bacteral infection, I always use UV in QT when I eradicated ich, if I am not using a drug that UV degrades.

Stick with the Cupramine at .5 for 4 weeks.....
