Ich DT water to frag tank?

I am leaving my DT fallow (on day 10 of 72) and I am now filling up my frag tank.
I need to do a water change and I would rather use new water for the DT and use the old water for my frag tank as it gets set up.

As long as I do not put any fish in contact with that water until it would have been at the 72 day mark would that be fine?
