I added there clown fish to my established tank. After the first day I noticed white spots looking like crystals on the head fins and body. Im almost positive it is I've had it when I first started almost a year ago..I have not had anybody in there until adding these clowns.. I was under the impression the ich would die without a host..that is clearly not true unless the place I got them has Ich. But they looked so good when I first got them. I fear they are going to die.. Im damn near giving up all together... I've read multiple posts on RC. But these poor little clowns looked awful before I left for work

How long was your main tank without fish? Did you quarantine the clowns before putting them in your tank?

tank has to be without fish for 72 days and it will be clear ! you must quarantine all fish or you have wasted your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My tank was clear of fish for 5 months. They have only been in there for 2 days.. I did not quarantine prior to adding them I acclimated with drop method then placed in tank...im so frustrated. Please help..im setting.up a quarantine tank as soon as I get Home

I was trying to keep them stress free. Is that the problem that I didn't quarantine them...

If they were carrying a parasite, your DT is now infected and all of the fish have been exposed. Quarantine would have allowed you to observe and treat the fish without affecting the DT.

Can you post a picture of the affected fish?

So what do I do now I know that the cu will kill all my inverts.. Im still going to quarantine them when I get Home...if they are not dead..I'll post a picture asa I get Home

What do you have in your DT now? If only the fish, then i would apply hypo to the whole tank and let it run with the fish for 8 weeks.

17 lbs live rock.. coral light(purple/blur)with two carbon filters..sg 1.028, nitrates 30, phosphates: .25. Carbon hardness: 9dkh calcium: 480, temp 78. Water is clear. 1 mushroom coral, 3 clowns, 1 dragon sifter Gobi, 2 peppermint shrimps, 3 emerald.crabs, 3 black urchins, 1pineapple sponge, 1 red sm bubble anemone.

Sorry for the loss but glad that you are quarantining all the fish. I don't know anything about Copper as I only do TTM. Hope all goes well.

Your salinity is high btw try not to exceed 1.026, I keep mine at 1.024.

Hypo in main tank wouldnt work because you have corals. You did good, better now than later. I hope you will be able to rescue the two clowns
