Ich (no quarantine)?

I'm currently going hocus pocus garlic guard, soaking the food and feeding more, i will pick up my hospital tank until Sat. morning.. it will be a 30 gall. it will be a tight squezze in there for yellow tang, powerbrown, royal gramma, clownfish,2 green chromis. I will be doing a daily water change, should i go with the copper/cupramine? IF so daily water changes, and 80 degree water?

Try to get cupramine, if you have to order it online do it now. It is not as harsh on the fish and it doesn't seem to leach into things as readily as copper. I would try petco. I had all of my fish including 4 large tangs in a 30 QT last time I had ich in my tank. They made it.

Your water change schedule will be dictated by your fish. The more ammonia they pump out the faster you need to change water. Feed lightly as cupramine and copper treatments will lower there appetite in many cases. Hyposalinity will also lower their feeding response. If you use copper make sure to have a couple airstones running and rasie the tank temp slowly to 84 degrees. High temp shortens ichs life cycle and boosts a fish's own energy levels.

Thanks for you help, i will try petco. So heres my list for my qt tank: display tank water which i will raise to 84 degrees, heater, powerhead, new ammonia test kit, light on for a 2-4 hours a day or longer or not at all?

Start water at tank temp so you do not need to acclimate fish. Then slwoly raise the temp over 24 hours.

I just got the 30 gall. QT tank setup tonight, i took 200-250 ibs. of rock out of my display of course to catch all of my fish, what a pain in the "arse" it was, not to mention try to find a spot for corals, anyway tomorrow i will start dropping salinity for the hypo treatment.. I ask myself tonight why i do this. And i of course answer myself and say" because your are a idiot.." Oh well have a nice day.

Slow drip works great for dropping salinity. Just remove 5 gallons of saltewater and slow drip 5 gallons of fresh back into the tank. I use airline tubing with a knot tied in it or better yet a valve on the end. Be sure to monitor salinity as the fresh mixes in. Fish can handle a drop fairly well, but low stress is key.

Any time wayne. your tank looks good and its a real nise setup. keep up the good work. wayne has taught me alot about saltwater tanks. We need to get you tank in the tank tour i can set there for hrs and look at that coral.

Two dead soldiers in the QT tank when i got home today.
And i was gonna drop the salinity to it's final spot tonight, it's at 1.012 right now final equals 1.09. Has anyone did Hypo any higher and had this work? What are your guys/girls thoughts?
