My new clown is started to be very stressed. My cleaner shrimp is trying to clean it but it jumps goes away. I had Ich on my other clown about 5 weeks ago, what should i do? I think he ate one flake but thats all. How can i help him? FW dip? I dont have a QT(stupid me)

I just got through with a bout of ich on my blue hippo. I left him alone in the tank and kept feeding him mysis with garlic extract and vitachem. Someone suggested to me not to net him, placing him in QT, as this will stress the fish more. So I just fed him daily and did the usual tank maintanence. He pulled through. So IMO leave him alone and feed well with garlic. At least this worked for me. Good luck with your clown. Hope all goes well with whatever you do!

Watching a fish suffer through a disease while standing by doing nothing is, in my opinion, irresponsible fishkeeping. Improving nutrition during a disease is doing nothing.

Good nutrition should be your goal on a daily basis. This is good info on that:

Right now, your fish is ill and needs your help. IF you are sure of your diagnosis, then there is only one procedure to follow. Remove all fish from your display. Let the display tank go fishless for at least 8 weeks. All obligate parasites will die off without a fish to live off of. During this time you must not add anything to your display that might bring in the disease (like water from an invert that's been with fish).

All the fish (even those you think are not infected) need to be treated for Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) by one of the methods outlined in the references:

Good luck! Ask here if you have questions. :)
