ich or amyloodinium -pics

Ok, gotta get the copper. I have formalin in the house, wonder if that is likely to help?

Still no symptoms on clown 2

Aww, bummer :( I lost her.

Still would apreciate an id for the male's sake. I'll post updates on wether or not he shows symptoms and will treat at the first sign.

Check this thread again. I gave a sample of the tomites (sp?) to a friend who is into fish disease ID so hopefully he can provide some answers.

Oddly to me the male and the goby seem fine for now. They just ate and have normal behaviour and skin as far as I can tell  Apparently marine medicin is complicated.

I know, I need to brush up on my terminology with this stuff. Can't I just say they gots ick from stress and give them all garlic bath to make it go away? ;)

oh that blows... how low was the salinity dip you gave earlier..I have had good results with FW dips/baths for fish infected in the gills. but that was dealing with c.irritans..have no idea what your fish was having problems with though.

it wasn't ich nor was it velvet..like i mentioned b/f..you are not able to actually see these parasites in any stage walking around in your tank..they are microscopic , their diameter is measured in microns.

still cannot open photos..all appear as small red x in the upper left.
can't wait to hear some info if these things can be identified.. haven't really read anything like over the years..

the only other thing i can think of is something called 'crab pits'. dealt with these things once i believe. they are actually a small crusteans that dig into the fishes body. very difficult to remove from the fish... but the symptoms sound a tad bit different.

i can tell you about that problem..i just finished treating 2 tangs for it..it took a series of formalin dips, but i finally nipped it!!! the fish still have some scars where the pods were

ron, you seem to be well informed regarding this forum.
yes..the formalin baths are the recommended and perhaps the only possible treatment. i had them on a pink tail trigger, however, i accidentaly killed the fish in a qt mishap. so i could not continue w/the treatment plan.

i can see the pics now..the video was taking to long to come up.
very curious to find out what these things are.. going to look through more references tomorrow.

i keep only tangs..i buy sick ones from the lfs and treat them..i try to save them!!!here is a pic of the tangs after the formalin dips..you can see the scars.they are muchbetter now.....

Thought I would update this thread. The fella who looked at the parasites under the microscope said they were uronema marinum, the protozoan. Looking at the pictures of fish with this disease, I don't see many similarities in the symptoms.

The good news is that the other fish are asymptomatic at this time.
