Ich or Marine velvet w/pics. Need to know if TTM will work

I noticed my fish had some white on their fins yesterday and it has gotten worse of the last 24 hours. I bought everything today to do TTM but I need to be sure it is Ich and not Marine velvet. Saltwater is mixing and I will be catching them tomorrow once fully mixed. Please let me know ASAP.

I managed to get all 4 fish out of my reef, which was easier than I expected it to be, and got them into my first tank for the first day of the tank transfer method. I placed everything in my calendar so that I don't miss the transfers. I will also be setting up my quarantine tank I will transfer them to on the final transfer as my tank will remain fallow until February 19. Wow that seems a long ways away but if it allows me to not deal with Ich again it will totally be worth it. Hopefully it will be cycled by the time I need it ready for them.

Remember to keep all the tanks 10' or more from each other to avoid aerosol transmission and make sure after each transfer the old tank is sterilized and allowed to sit dry for a min of 24 hrs before setting it up again. Good luck

I got them about 9 feet apart which was the best I can do. If they are behind a wall, would that be ok? I basically have my display against the wall, and one of my quarantine on the opposite side of the wall in a crawl space area. There is only a outlet size hole between the walls.

Made my 2nd transfer (day 4) of my TTM. Also got the long term QT started until my reef has been fallow for 72 days. Will the bio filter start without a heater? Only thing I don't have yet.

While this tank transfer stuff is a pain, I find it better then copper. Only issue I find is I scrub up like a doctor every time I touch any thing with Ich in it before doing anything else. Lol

IMO, that looks more like velvet. If so, I would treat with CP

Marine velvet usually doesn't produce spots which are obviously visible to the naked eye, such as we see here. Instead, dark skin may seem "dusty" in indirect light (thus the "velvet" nickname), there may be some cloudiness of the fins, or there may be no obvious visible symptoms at all. I think the Ich diagnosis is correct.

Fish are clearly better after the 5th transfer. If this would have been Velvet, all of them would have been dead. I am doing 6th transfer for additional safety and then over a month in QT to make sure they are healthy.
