ich or marine velvet

whats up i was wondering something. I have all my fish in a seperate tank because they had ich or marine velvet. I am doing the "hypo" method now i no that will take care of ich but will it take care of marine velvet? and how long do my fish need to be in the tank for before they go back into the main display?

Hyposalinity is only effective against ich, not velvet. For velvet, the treatment of choice is copper.

if my fish had velvet would they show signs of it right away or is it like ich that it comes and goes? And to cure my main tank of it do i keep it fishless for 90 days or does that only work for ich? If any one has pics of velvet could they post them thanks

In my experience, you either cure your fish of velvet or they all die. It does not come and go like ich does.

ok well then i think that my fish do not have velvet, they show no signs of anything so i think that i am going to do what i have been doing keeping them in qurentine for 6 weeks.
