Ich outbreak!

You can dig a low area in your sand and drain your water out to where he is swimming in that low area and scoop him out and then pump your water back in.

rob i used it and it worked for me

Thanks you give me hope haha

UPDATE: it seems to be working i have my entire reef on kick ich..it seems as though ive lost one of my LPS corals because he is completely closed up and not even beginning to open..im ok with losing this coral as long as the the treatment works and i never see ich in this tank again haha

"UPDATE: it seems to be working"

Just wait a while it will be back. Remember the life cycle stages these things go thru.

"What attacks our fish are parasites and they are inverts as are corals as such."
"If they are reef safe they will only annoy the parasites and maybe not kill the corals."

I agree 100% with this statement. I am going thru this also and have no faith in the snake oil treatments.

i am going to start rounding up people to be a part of a huge lawsuit against the so called "reef safe" ich meds..... no one has any proof these have ever worked but yet they keep selling and costing reefers hundreds, even thousands of dollars. corals die, fish die, med. costs, and so on.... Anyone want to be a part of this....email me. vancefargo@aol.com I am going to start a thread about it also. Sorry to hear about your fish.....i have the exact same thing going on with my 210 reef....two hundred dollar...huge achilles that is fighting his best to make it. Even knowing all I know about these meds not working.... we get desparate to save our beautiful fish.... I tried No Ich by fish vet and it killed several clams and hard corals over about a weeks time and did nothing to the ich problem...

So true, I've read too many horror stories about all the fish and coral that have died after using these "reef safe" meds and the ich lives on.

now one of my clams is starting to go it looks like...im taking my clams and LPS coral to my LFS buddy in the morning to hold there till this all passes and i will not treat anymore... the only fish that have ICH are the 3 yellow tangs and the purple tang which are the ONLY fish that constantly fight eachother so i am hoping that the ICH stays on them and them only and goes away...if i could get that purple tang it would probly all go away but i cant so there is nothing i can do...my Achilles tang has cleared up almost 100% and i will keep him in the QT for the next few weeks..thanks for all your help guys now all i can do is hope this all passes and ive learned a couple good leasons out of all of this.

well so far none of the other fish have ich...only the 3 yellow tangs and purple tangs which constantly fight which is why they have ich..sadly i can not catch them and it drives me crazy..i am not going to use the "kick ich" as of now...one of my corals seems to be dead and one of my clams is starting to close....what do i do now to get this stuff out of my water? just let it cycle for a few days? water change? whats the best way?

If you take your corals to the LFS for them to hold for you, the chances are you will bring back ich again or another disease unless they put them in a tank that is not connected to any other tank and has no LFS fish in it.

He is gonna hold them in his display reef tank which no LFS fish come in or out of..the fish in there have been in there for a long time.

what can i do to get the stuff out of my water so it will stop harming anything else? just let it cycle through?
