Hi everyone, I have read several posts on ich and they are several ways to solve the ich problem, from copper to fresh water dipping. But what happens went, for example in my case I have a 150-gallon tank with lots of rock and it is impossible to get the fish out. Is there anything anyone can buy that cures the ich problem with out taking the fish out of the tank and all rock, snails.

For example I know they sell.
Ich Attck
Kick-Ich
Prevent-Ich
Fish Tonic
Aquarisol
Clear Ich
Super Ich Plus
Clout 100 tap
Coppersafe
Coral Vital
Coral Vital Pro
Malachite Green
Quick Cure
Rid-Ich
Greenex

Do any of this things work? And what is better?

My situation: I have 150 gallons, snails and live rock, 4 cromis and 2 Blue tangs. Only the blue tangs have Ich but I cannot get them out. Is it possible that I can buy soothing to cure Ich with out taking them out or taking my tank apart?

Thank you,

There is nothing you can put in your tank that will rid the ick and not kill your LR or inverts, corals. Freshwater dips are completely worthless for ick as well and do nothing more than stress the poor fish out. You can rid ick with copper or hypo. I have treated ick with hypo and copper myself and my last and current treatment with a blue tang i just picked up is hypo in my display tank. Its in week 5 now and ick has been gone since week one. All my Live sand died, as figured and planned. No ammonia spike. All my LR and inverts corals were removed prior to treatment. It will work if you hypo in your main tank if you are prepared to do so. My sand will be live again weeks after i add my rock back. How was my experience......very good imo and much easier than trying to catch my fish and move them.

Basically what you are saying is to remove all (in my case) snails, crabs, and shrimps correct? Only leave fish and rocks. Do the Hypo (low salt volume in tank) for 5 weeks and then put salt to correct level and then add snails, shrimps and crabs correct?
Evething else will die in the tank?
Can I put the snails, crabs and shrimps in a small tank with water and air in the mind time? Does this tank needs to be filter or can I just change the water every week?
Thank you, for any advice.

Another alternative that people with large tanks and no ability to QT use- is to purchase a large UV device and try and keep stress levels low. The UV device won't necessarily eliminate ich but it will reduce it and perhaps allow the fish to obtain some level of immunity to ich.

Do not leave the live rock, it will have alot of die off if you leave it creating an ammonia prob. I'd take a larger rubbermaid, throw all your lr and snails, crabs, shrimp and put a cheap hot halogen or some floresent light on it, a heater adn a powerhead. Cheap qt, and do water changes on a weekly basis. WHen you first fill it, i'd add the tank water in there. Also you will need to keep your fish at .009(hypo) sg and like this for 6 weeks. (I prefer 8)

Is it possible to have ich for 3 week? I will take some pictures and post them to see if what my tangs have is ich or not. Just because I had ich on them for 3 weeks and some one told me that it was impossible to have ich for that long.????

Ich naturally falls off a fish within a week ... but that doesn't mean it can't be reinfected. Some people mistake lympho for ich .. lympho is a viral disease akin to warts in people .. tends to hang around/grow.
