Ich question

I noticed my purple tang twitching on Dec 10th. I proceeded to pull him out and quarentine him. After seeking advice from many I chose to use meds vs hypersalinity (hope its spelled right). I dosed as suggested by a few and per the bottle. On Christmas was the last visible signs of ich. I stopped dosing after about a month and a half. (mid jan) Next week will be a month since I stopped medication and almost two months since I have seen any signs of ich...I was thinking about putting him back in the display tank next week. Any thoughts? I know they say ich stays around for 11 months or so...I also will be feeding food soaked in garlic which from what i read will help in preventing it again. Any help would be as always much appreciated.

one month disease free is safe (one month with no white spots) The disease cycles roughly every 3 weeks. My personal experience has been a QT with hyposalinity for one solid month (or one month since the last white spot was seen). this has never failed.
