had a blue tang that came down with a bad case of Ich.....long story short he went back home to the LFS and there are no other fish in my DT.....So, how long do I have to wait until I the Ich will die in my tank and I can add fish again?

Are there any other inhabitant at all in the display tank? Coral, inverts, live rock, etc?

Yes, I have a GBTA, Coral Banded Shrimp, Cleaner Shrimp, 10 Astrea snails, 10 nassarius, 6 Nerite snails, 2 Red legs, 1 large electric blue hermit, 80 lbs LS, 100 lbs LR....

I am under the assumption that they will all not be effected by the Ich and I just have to wait for it to end its cycle and die.....am I correct?

You are correct. QT anything wet that you add in the future and you won't have to worry about ich getting in again.

Thanks Freed.....It will be a long 6 weeks....

If you set up a QT tank NOW, you can put a fish or two in your main display in 6 weeks if you QT properly for ich or any other diseases.

8 weeks is very good and should result in all of the parasites dlying. Some cysts ,however, hae persisted for up to 72 days.

Anything can have the cysts of th parasite attached to it but most don't qt except for fish which is the highest risk.

I am going to let me tank sit fishless for about 6-8 weeks while the Ich dies off......Question- Do I have to worry about any of my inverts catching ich....Im am almost sure that I dont but here are my inhabitants....

Snails
Crabs
Bristle Star
CB shrimp
Cleaner Shrimo
GBTA

They should not be effected by Ich correct?

No the inverts don't catch ich. They only carry it in the mechanical sense, i.e. a cyst landing and becoming attached briefly.

Take a look on a web search under crytocaryon irritans (marine ich) . The life cycle will be easily found and you will understand it a be t better. The parasite only hosts fish. The cysts can be anywhere.
