Hey guys, i had a float switch failure due to which all the fresh water got dumped, creating a major salinity fluctuation. Later next morning i found big ich spots in my clowns (due to stress i guess).

My neighbour had crazy ich outbreak in his freshwater planted tank with over 100+ fishes, and he used this method and after this treatment, he got rid of ich withing 24hrs witout any deaths (some died before treatment though).

Well i did same thing, first dry mixed metro with focus, nls thera A 1mm and then added garlic guard. After refrigeration of about 4hrs, i fed it to my clowns, and saw about 70% recovery.

I dont have a qt, nor space for 1.

Clowns are again eating like crazy. No heavy breathing. But i can still see some very light spots on my bigger clown, my smaller clown has recovered almost 90%. seachem recomends continuing it for 2 to 4 weeks.. i use to feed them once a day, but now feeding them 3ice, the same medicated food iv made for them.

Metronidazole is not an effective treatment for ich. Also, you can't compare methods used for freshwater ich, as they are two completely unrelated organisms. The only proven methods for eliminating ich in marine aquaria are tank transfer method (TTM), hyposalinity and copper (not recommended).

Well hypo salinity and fw dips i feel are more stressfull, but merto did work a bit for my fish, i jus saw, one of the fish has almost 100% recovered and the other is still recovering. Both are eating like crazy. Keeping fingers cross for a week, lets see. Wont add any new fish until next month i guess, until i see 100% recovery. Will by adding more corals though.

The life cycle is such that they look better but that is only temporary. Sorry.

Hey guys, last night i noticed one of my clowns got white dust on it, dosed tank with metroplex as recomended and was going to setup qt today evening after work. But morning i noticed the fish was dead. Its was so sudden i dint understand wat to do. It was eating like crazy and still it died. Every1 says if its eating its ok. But it still died. I am totally confused now what to do, im at work as of now. Also i use to check all parameters and all seems normal. Shud i add skimmer? Have been into this hobby for so long and never faced velvet issue.. shud i nuke the tank or keep it fishless for 2 mnths? I have soft corals. Help guys.

That dusting SEEMS like velvet. No need to nuke the tank. Leave it fallow for 72+ days. Skimmer isn't going to do anything against parasites, not sure what your goal is with a skimmer?

Correct. Without fish then the velvet can not survive. It needs a host.

I have called for cupramine and it will come on monday...[emoji17] another reason is i guess there was always some electric current in the tank.. i guess this wud have caused stress. Have called for eheim compact 1000 pump for return.. never faced this before.. also working on a qt setup..
