Ich!

This is the second Fireball Angle that I got from the LFS with Ich! First one died. Luckily, I have it in QT. Spots appeared today. I want to aggressively treat this one so I don't lose this one like the last one. What do you guys recommend? My QT tank has the following.

  1. It's an IM Nuvo 10 gallons
  2. Activated Carbon
  3. Filter Floss
  4. Marine Pure Balls
  5. Ghost Skimmer (currently off)
  6. Lights (will remain off)
  7. I cycle this tank with Red Sea and dose NO4+PO4x to keep nutrients down.
  8. I have no inverts in the tank, just the fish.
  9. I have Ich Attack from Kordon that I dose 5ml 2x day.
  10. Fish is active, not eating today, but did eat yesterday the day before the spots appeared. Also, the fish has a little bit of Lymph, not bad at all, tiny amount.

Open to all recommendations on treatment!

Let's get this party started!

I prefer TTM (more info here) as it's the most effective treatment and doesn't require chemicals. Ditch the Ich Attack, as it won't have any effect on the parasite despite the manufacturer's claims. Also, there's no need to dose NOPOX in a QT as nitrates won't get high enough to have any impact on the fish's health (NOPOX is typically used to keep nutrients low in a full reef tank).

Thanks. Any alternative than TTM? I don't have an extra tank. Maybe once it falls off I can move it to a container and the clean the whole tank and move him back within an hour or two?

Let me know,
Joey

Copper safe is the only medication that you will need for ICH and is less harsh as compared to cupramine. I have leopard and fairy wrasses in QT along with angels with no ill effects.
