I added a scopus tang a few weeks back to a tank with no quarantine. I know, stupid. Trust me I'm beating myself up about it.
A few days ago I noticed one of the neon gobies constantly cleaning the tang. That's when I noticed a large white spot on the neon goby and a few smaller ones on the tang.
There are no other signs of ailment. All are eating and swimming fine. Gills moving normally.
Then yesterday my smallest neon goby disappeared. This is not the one with the white spot and he has never tried to clean the tang.
The white spot on the larger neon goby is gone.
Does this sound like ich? What should I do to treat?
Inhabitants:
2 neon gobies (now down to 1)
1 green spotted mandarin
1 lawnmower blenny
2 green chromises
2 pep shrimps
lots of softies
I currently have the salinity at 1.023 and the temp at 72* (I used to have seahorses in this tank which have to be kept below 74*. Everything does fine at that temp so I never added a heater.)
I just added a UV sterilizer last night that I had bought for the 120 I'm setting up but thought it might do some good on this tank for now.
Thanks a head of time for any help!
