bpcardona- interestingly enough my hippo tang has the SAME EXACT things happening to him. I'm not sure at ALL what they are.. I had him in qurantine for almost a month under Chloroquine Phosphate any my display tank has no ich in it. The other fish have NO signs and seem to be completely healthy and happy. I have Powerblue's, angels, tangs, and other ICH prone fish and none are showing any signs. I'm stumped!.

I haven't decided if it is Ich or no, But it sure looks like it. Therefore I have no other choice but to treat it as if it were. Like you know other fish, even my Naso Tang, is showing that any other signs

Following along. My hippo is probably worse off than your pictures. His eyes especially have a a few "white fuzz/dots" on them (similar to yours), which, as far as I could research, is not typical of ich. But he's never shown signs of stress and he's remained the most aggressive and agile eater with 2 other tangs competing.

Todays update:
He seems to being losing the pimples. Also the spot on his eye has gotten better.

If the pimples are fading rather than immediately vanishing, you're probably not dealing with cryptocaryon. Fingers crossed. :)

Hummm Can you take a video of him?

I am curious how they look at varying angles. I know he wont be a good candidate as his ADD will kick in and be all over the tank. LOL

Continuing to look better.....Worm the video is coming.

Well by the time you get the video done they will not have any spots...

Now wait... Ick does not do what you are showing.... or does it?

My experience with ich is that it is not a quick killer, so you have time. Once the spots disappear, fish my be clear for a while, and then suddenly be covered in white spots. Hippos are generally among the first fish to show symptoms, but if you have a full blown ich infestation others will manifest symptoms too. At that point you will really have no option other than removing all fish to quarantine and fallowing the tank for 12 weeks.

That's interesting. So are they supposed to be all synchronized like that? They all fall off at the same time and reinfest at the same time? I'm asking because my hippo is what I believe is ich and he's had it for over 2 weeks now. Mainly concentrated on and around his eyes. He gets slightly better or slightly worse day to day, but never have I seen a very obvious difference. What I thought was happening is that some are falling off and other reattaching every day. Or is this not indicative of ich?

Here is a great article on the parasite in question. Gives some background, and some problem with treatment options.

Also thanks for the complement. The camera is a canon EOS REBEL T3 with a 18-55mm lens. I have done minor post editing in lightroom 5.

Ahhh very nice... I will have to look them over and get one. I have seen a time lapse from one not to long ago, so I know they do good.
