So I came home from a 3day vacation and I noticed my 1inch long saddle puffer had white spots only on his top fins and on one Side fins? Is it a sign on ick or could sand stick to his fins

Lymphocystis (cawliflower disease) no known cure for it. usually if fish is healthy it will fall off.

I have some meds the treat fin rot and ich. Should i go ahead and do a freshwater dip with the meds?

Dips do nothing for ich, the parasite is buried too deeply. If this is ich; all fish will need to be treated in a QT?HT. I'r read the ich stickies at the top of the disease forum. There is no easy way to cure ich, again, I'm not positive that's what the fish has. My gut feeling is ich.

can u get a better pic or larger video mode and re-record. video plays in a very small screen format, even at full screen its hard to id. can u also make a longer video and try to zoom in as close the infected areas as u can. i am leaning towards Lympho still.

yea once im home i will do another video and try to get it closer.picture is hard to do since he moves a lot and so video is probely best

i am very confident to say its Lympho. i will wait for my fellow maybe more experience reefer MrTuskfish to chime in.

Note: if it is indeed lympho. then there is no cure for it except for a physical surgery. virus itself dont cause death but usually attacks fins and tail area immobilizing the fish in sever cases. secondary infections usually kill the fish faster. it is also contagious. it also attaches and detaches off the fish. like i mentioned before if fish is healthy and eating well usually it will fight it off itself.
