Reel North
New King of Quarantine
ok. Tomorrow I start treatment on this train wreck.
My fish have ick. Ive read all the stickies. And read almost every thread on it.
I have a 150g long reef. There are probably 20 corals & frags in there, and I have these fish
Blue throat 5"
6 line wrasse
cleaner wrasse
naso tang 4"
blue hippo 3"
Sailfin 4"
lawnmower blenny 3"
Half Black mimic tang 4"
emperor angel - 3"
3 x cardinals
I have an open 75 gallon that has only held cichlids before and an eheim canister, as well as some sponge filters.
I realize that if I dose copper, this tank is basically toast for anything but a hospital tank. I assume I can take it out with carbon going forward.
So here are my 2 options I figure:
1. cupramine. This will require setting uo the tank & filters and daily water changes to maintain pristine water quality. The emperor hasn't been treated for flukes I don't believe, so I will have to treat him after with prazi.
2. hypo. I have an ATO on the display tank, so am wondering about the possibility of hypo salinity as an option. There is great filtration on my tank, and with the size should be more stable than a smaller tank.
Obviously, the advantage to hypo is going to be that I don't have to pull all the corals and rocks.
What should I do?!
