i had upgraded to a bigger tank 75 to a 180 and after 4 weeks in my P B tang got ick and my yellow has some to. the rest of the fish look fine. their both eating like always but i can tell the PB is starting to go nuts. i tried one of those's so called reef safe ick cures and some cleaner shrimp but so far the ick hasn't got any worse but not any better either. so i'm going take them all out and treat. once their done with the 6/8 weeks in the sick tank will they have a chance of getting ick again from the stress of moving back to the main tank or will all chances of getting ick again be gone.

If you leave your main tank fishless for 10 to 12 weeks the ich will have died off. If you are treating your fish with Cupramine or Hypo you should be fine.

yeah i was going to use cupramine. up to 12 weeks wow.. will do.
just didnt know from the stress of them going back if they could get it again.

IMO hypo is alot better to treat ich with on tangs than copper. alot of tangs can't handle copper and can die.

Cupramine is the safest form of copper. However I have read that copper can be rough on tangs. Do your own research and make your own decision. Hypo is a pain in the butt.....PH is hard to maintain.

Especially the Powder Blue. The Powder Blue has alimentary faunas (bacteria living in their stomachs) that can be damaged by copper. If you're going to treat ALL of your fish (which you should) you need to have a pretty big qt tank. Or a few different ones. The same rules still apply while in qt, water movement, feed variety of food, water movement, proper temp, water movement, proper ammonia/trite/trate levels, water movement...

If done right it should be gone. Having no fish present interrupts the life cycle of the parasite, and without a host it will die out. You can google or do a search here to learn a little more about the Ich lifecycle.
