Can anyone identify this goby? I was wondering if it's one of the shrimp gobies since someone local has a pistol shrimp for trade. Thanks!

without its dorsal up its pretty hard to ID it...That said i'd guess its a Crested Oyster Goby (Cryptocentroides gobioides), which are not symbiotic with pistols.

Thanks. I looked that fish up and they seem a lot larger than this fish. See the sexy shrimp in the first pic? This goby is the size/shape of a neon goby. Any other thoughts?

I also saw it sifting sand last night - just a few mouthfuls - not like a diamond goby or anything like that.

could be just a really small juvi of the goby he mentioned. I have seen some Tiny gobies and blennies in the LFS lately.
