Is the pink montipora? And the blue tip acropora?

Thanks

The blue tip acro looks like the one I posted under Blue Stag. It seems that what I was sold as blue stag may actually be Miami Orchid. Check out my post, they really look identical. Mine looks purple and brown in the pic, but in the tank it looks like yours.

I may be way off, but the other looks like it could be some type of bleached digitata without polyp extension.

Thanks for the info,I will have to look into it more. There are very small polyps on the pink but I can't get a clear picture on my phone where it's placed.

IMO it can't be ORAs Miami Orchid if it did not come with the lineage. So if you're looking for a show name i think the only proper thing to do would be to start your own. Copying another is making an imposter, but that is my rant on SPS and show names.

Miami Orchid is also pink to purple, not blue. http://www.orafarm.com/products/hardcoral/acropora/miami-orchid/

If you would like species names then i am going with;

Acropora parilis for the blue tip.

And Montipora digitata for the orange one.

Thanks for the reply! I wasn't too worried about the show name. I just wanted to research proper care and placement for these.

And you should. That's why i feel show names can be harmful. If you are told you have a Miama Orchid, where there are lots of reefers with experience with this exact coral, then you could be getting fooled into taking care of it wrong.

I'll say this, it's blue tips and thick branches probably say it would be good under full light and high water flow.

That's good because where I wanted to put it has high flow and it on the higher part of my aquascape.

Maybe I should move it off my frag rack that is low in my tank sooner then later then.
