ID help please

Hi everyone i have just joined in the hope that someone can help me to ID this growth on my rocks

This macro algae type growth is like hair algae only its hard and is actually growing through a piece of xenia!

Does anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it please

Can you get a closer pic? It could be turf algae, hair algae or bryopsis.

Definitely not hair algae we had that before this is very hard I will try and get a closer pic

a little blurry cant seem to get a clear picture with my phone

It doesn't seem to be any of those 3 you suggested they look soft and wet this is hard and sort of shiney like plastic

I believe it is not hair algae or byropsis but instead looks like
Cladophora prolifera.

I agree that it could be that the only reason it might not be it the way it grows mine doesn't seem to be linked by strands but appears to grow directly from the rock, unless I just haven't seen the strands linking them
