It appears to be a chiton of what species I'm not sure (please read my signature line). :D

Acanthochiton garnoti from Africa is described as having 9 pairs of tufts as yours seems to do. Cool looking critter.

nudibranch?

It has a hard segmented body so I have to say no on the nudi, but I can't ID this thing at all! It's actually very cool looking, about 3/4" LONG.

Flat worm.

Flat worm.

I had a flat worm similar to that. I say similar because coloration is not the same and mine did not have bristles.

I did some reading and found out that most of those types are predatory. I have since caught mine and put it in a 5 gal fuge tank.

I have seen mine eat a snail.

If you are going to kill it, please don't, it is an interesting animal, I will be happy to take it. I can pay you for shipping it.

Fat Man's right. You can clearly see the 8 calcareous plates in the center of the back that all chitons have. Tufts of bristles like this occur in several genera. Another chiton that is very common in aquariums is Cryptoplax but it's very different in appearance. It looks like a worm as the center plates are nearly completely covered by the mantle which is smooth.
