Any suggestions :)

Cool looking stuff, what are the white things they are growing out of? Could they be reproductive structures of some sort? or are they coming right out of the rock?

I was actually also thinking of reproductive structures ;) and if you look where the black arrow points in the upper left corner you can see if is appearing on the edge of a green leaf.
Looks like everything is reproducing in my tank right now :)

I was digging through some old pictures and found this:

If you look at the bottom right corner, there are a green leaf which looks like the green (or more gray) leaf in my first post.
Though I still don't know what kind of algae it is or what the structures are.

I have this macro in one of my reef tanks, it is one of the Udotea species. It starts as many small green fans, then loses its chlorophyll and turns white, then develops the rod-like green structures. In time it all disappears only to return on even more live rock. Nothing seems to eat it. If you could find a critter that would eat calcareous algae it might eat this macro.

Some member of this genus can use the cytoplastic contents of the filaments in their thallus (green fan) to produce sexual reproductive spores. After the spores are released the thallus turns white and dies.

This macro has only given me problems around sps corals. I use a hemostat to get a good grip on the stalk and remove the individuals that are to close to my corals. Be sure to remove the holdfast or it will grow a new thallus.
