ID Needed - Coral?

I've noticed this one since I set up my live rock in the tank. I think it's a coral but I'm not really sure. It does have those threadlike things protruding from it, but I've always wondered if it's even alive?

I've also noticed a few of those white growths - just to the upper right of the larger "whatever it is". That one is fairly new so I'm not sure if its another one growing or something else. They do seem to have some type of "pores" in them.
