Set up a tank @ a year ago with cured LR from LFS. Almost immediately started seeing these small prickly things showing up everywhere. On the LR, on the back of the tank, on the surface skimmer, on the aquarium magnet, even on the shells of snails. Not on the glass though. They're about 1mm or 2mm in length and 1mm or smaller in circumference. Once they form, they are rock solid and attached securely. They can only be snapped off. Any ideas?

Vermetid snails or possibly Foraminiferns perhaps? What color are they?

Unfortunately I'm battling GHA right now so a good picture would be difficult.

They appear to be a flesh color. I will check the two possibilities you suggested. Thanks for the link.
