Hi,

Found these on a recently introduced torch coral which died. Not sure if they are just eating dead tissue or are parasitic. All the other coral including another torch doing fine.

Thanks,

Ashok

They appear to be flatworms. While some of the highly colored ones are easy to identify these plain worms are not. Food items for specific species are mostly unknown so unless there's clear evidence of feeding - like the white scars left by AEFW - it's impossible to say if they are scavengers, parasites, innocent or guilty for your torch's demise. Sorry!

Thanks

There don't seem to be any in my display tank at the moment. The photo of the worm on the glass was taken from my display tank about a month ago. However, i put the dead skeleton of the torch in a tank where I am curing some live rock and it seems to be full of the same worms.

Questions is do i need to eradicate the worms before I use the rock for a display tank and what would you recommend to get rid of them.

Ashok
