ID on these coral

I got some new corals at my LFS yesterday and I forgot what he had told me they were. Can someone ID these corals for me so I know the names of what I've got in my tank.

First 2 photos are of the same coral

More info, given that the photo are so blue.

The first one looks like a Zoe but has much longer little "fingers"

And the second one is like longer arms with "fingers" along the sides of them. It is grey in color and rather soft/flows a lot

How quickly will the anthelia grow?

Here is a color corrected image of the second coral. I've looked at some photos of anthelia and mine doesn't look quite as thin and long as the photos. Are we sure that's what this is?

Clove polyps. Also another invasive coral. I tore down my last tank because of these.

If I isolate them on a rock in the sand will they be limited to that rock?

Maybe for awhile. Then one day you'll see one someplace else. Then another. And another.


IMHO, the palythoas are worse. They're real pretty until they cover everything. And did I mention that, without proper care and handling, they can send you to the ER?

From what I'm gathering as long as I'm not fragging or ripping off the corals I wont have a problem? Is this fair?

Both of these corals are fairly easy to control IME. The only reason why they take over a tank is because the owner let it become that way. Just pay close attention to them and take the necessary precautions if need be. This could be pruning on a regular basis, building temporary walls or barriers or just smothering the polyps with epoxy.

I had them in my last tank. Very fast growing, and it will appear in new locations as pieces that break off can take root in new locations. Like anything else, probably controllable if given the appropriate vigilance and response.
