Hard to say, I'd let them get a little bigger before you get rid of them. There are so many macro algae's that it's hard to say until more mature.

How are they attached to the rock? Do they have stems or anything? I want to say Ulva, but I don't think that's correct.

nope no stem kind of like a brown blob filled with air. and before someone ask no i have not felt it yet. Im trying to figure out what it is before i touch it

Are you sure they're filled with something or it that just how they appear? I wonder if it might be "Red Bubble Algae." I've had this in my tanks before and it wasn't really red and it wasn't really as pretty as the ones in the link below are. It took time for the spots and that silver like sheen to develop.

it appears that way. and great that just made my day :/. well atlas I'm going to be transferring all the coral over to my new tank in the next couple of days. so once there all out I can start the clean out process of this problem.

I would panic just yet. I'm just spit balling here. It could be something completely different. Also, even if it is bubble algae you don't have to do anything drastic. Just remove as much of it as you can before your next water change and keep your eyes peeled for more.

honestly i may just tear down this tank for right now. Ive started my climb back up since my 90 cracked and I don't think I'm quiet ready for the nano world

I'm also kinda thinking red bubble as I've got a few in my sump and they don't start out looking like red bubble. I've got another red one that I've got no clue of yet. So I'm in the same wait and see boat.

Well you got my answer, I'd let them grow out to get a positive ID. Some of the macro algae are hard to get. But that's me.

Because you say they just shot up over the weekend I'd assume a macro, as they do pop up fast, and bubble algae not so much.
I've looked at a rock that had nothing one day and a dime size macro the next, bubble algae I've seen tiny dots that take weeks to be big enough to even pull

I'd say if you can't ID them, keep them contained to one rock and if they start spreading, take a flame thrower to them

I'm going with ulva. This was mine on some rocks , I peeled some off, put it in the sump and it turned out to be ulva. Also, it looks like it is attached to the rocks the same.

Colin you would be correct yours is Ulva as it's green and Ulva is green.

I'm beginning to think that the OP has red bubble algae but still can't give that as a positive ID until it gets more matured.
