Although this seems to be bleaching at its base. I have no idea on what it is. When I got it it was dark purple with brown polyps...

Um... Purple Acropora. If it didn't come with a "name" i wouldn't give it one. I only depend on "names" to only distinguish lineage. If it colors up good and is healthy you don't need a dumb name. The coral speaks for itself.

True, but if I walk into a store and say "A. Macrostoma" they will say Hu? So I just thought I would ask... Thanks for the info...

Although when I was looking for a Purple LTA and every store owner was trying to sell me Hatian Anemones, I would tell them Macrodactyla Doreensis and they would say "oh" and walk away. Still not knowing what I wanted but at least they stopped trying to sell me something I did not want. So it can come in handy...
