I have no idea what this is on my coral. Can someone please ID?

Also, any idea what the coral is? The LFS said it is a leather but couldn't tell me the type.

Any thoughts on the growth/bug on the stalk?

Is is a bug, or is it just new growth on the coral? Does it move? Might try poking at it with a pair ot tweezers and see if it is a pest that is latched on, or if it is just a new branch growing out. Personally looking at the left trunk, then at the right I think it is probably just new growth.

Also, it looks like it might be Nephthea, does the trunk of it have a neon green/yellow highlighter look to it?

The coral looks like it might be a Sinularia. As far as those creatures go, chitons came to mind first.

I will check tonight. I haven't been able to touch the tank since my post. Darn life getting in the way ;-)

It doesn't seem to move. Guess new growth. Hope so anyway.

Poking them didn't move it but last night when I looked both were gone and the flesh smooth like nothing was ever there. Hope whatever it was isn't harmful.
