Hi members ;)

I got two carpets few days ago. And I have some questions:

- Are they Haddoni?

- Do they look healthy?

- I had two Frosbite Clownfishes, followed this guy from YouTube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g7pGnlGdP-E
But they did not host my carpet. My friend has the same pink carpet and his Picasso never leaves the carpet. Why?

Thanks

They look like haddoni to me. Looks healthy in the picture.

They have very strong sting. If not acclimated well clownfish can be eaten by them. So I don't suggest to follow the glass tube method for this type anemone.

Thanks for your reply.

Could you please explain why my Frosbites do not? The carpets are not ready or the Frosbites hate them?

My friend's Picasso ignored the pink carpet in few months. Finally, hosted the carpet

They might eventually but they need time.

This type of anemone is only natural host to certain type of clownfish, not including percs and ocellaris. So they might not host your clownfish at all or might host them in about a couple of months or in some cases, years. Just give them some time and see what happens.

Immediate host often happens with gigantea carpet and magnifica anemone since they are natural host to your clownfish, but they are hard to take care of. Haddoni is much easier.

Beautiful haddoni. I want the blue one :) if you google, you can find an article on clown and natural host. Even with natural, captive bred clowns dont always know. My clowns don't go near the haddoni. The black and white is hosted in the mag, and the maroon is hosted in the BTA. Good luck.

Thanks all of you :)

More questions:

- The clown usually collects food for anemone. My friend feeds the Picasso full. But when he feeds the carpet, the Picasso always pulls the food out of the carpet's mouth and throws away. Why?

- How often should I feed my carpet?

Thanks all of you :)

My female clownfish feed the anemone.

But my male clown would always throw the food out of the anemone, I think he is trying to clean the anemone and thinks the food is some sort of dirt. But My female clown fish always get the food back to the anemone again...so I had to separate them from my anemone...my lta is too small for them anyway.

You can feed them once or twice every week.

I would wait atleast week (personally about a month for me) before feeding though, let them settle in to their new home. Feeding small pieces of food is best, mysis, fresh seafood minced or shaved (uncooked)
