I got this anemone and these polyps on some live rock I purchased. I think the anemone is a pest anemone. No clue about polyps.

The anemone looks like Majano, definitely a pest. As for the polyps, they appear to be either Zoanthids or Palythoas.

There are actualy 2 of those anemones in my tank. Are they easy to keep? I was going to remove them but decided to leave them in there for a while to see they live. How are they compared to some of the easeier species of good anemones too keep? I want an anenome but unsure if my water conditions are suitable for one to live in. Also, what do the polyps need to live happy and healthy? I'm new to these. I've had only fish and hermits since my tank was setup over 2 years ago. Thanks

Kill the anemones while you still can or you will be sorry.

Will do. They have been in there for about a month. They look good and healthy. So do you think I'll be able to keep a BTA or somthing? Of will these majano live in bad water conditions? I will take care of them today after school.

They can live through a cycling tank, ammonia and all.

They are history now. What do these polyps need in order to be healthy? Real strong light? Higher in the tank or on the floor? water current? food? I'd like to get some more of these If I can keep them.

Also, Only half of them bloom out. They look like little green bubbles. Some of the larger ones are out all the time.

These polyp will also survive anything. Feeding them will help them grow faster.

So polyps are easy to keep? Or just these? I want a lot more if they are fairly hardy. What do I feed them? I'm new to this stuff. My tank has always been a FOWLR setup. Thanks for all the help guys.

If those anems were majano's than that's the first time i've seen one with purple tips. It's a shame that you jumped the gun and killed it. The pic you posted doesn't even look like a typical majano. As far as the polyps go they look really cool and different with the purple ring, but they can be pests as well (i literally have hundreds now). Be careful.

These anemones did'nt have purple tips like in the picture. Idk why they look purple in the pics. The pics actualy show anems and polyps to be darker than they actualy are. the anemones are actualy a pinkish color.

I have some majanos with purple bubble tips, they used to look pretty before they multplyed into hundreds

The polyps will eat anything. I just leave it alone and they will multiply and cover your rock. They do it slowly, and do not spread everywhere so if you want to kill them in the future, you just take them out and scrape them off. If you want a SPS tank, polyps will bother the SPS. Be carefull with touching Polyps. Some of them are highly toxic to some people.

Ok thanks. If they are on a little island rock will the polyps still start growing everywhere? Or on just that one rock surrounded by sand? Or can they grow in sand?

It won't spread over the sand or fly off somewhere else. Just spread to cover the rock and any rock touching it. I a reef structure, it can start to cover other corals and kill them. I have never seen Polyps loose to another coral in "border wars" in my tank.
