ID please

So I found this little guy hiding in my new Acro I picked up last week I just found it today and was able to coax it out with a kitchen knife and catch it in a cup.

I'm not really sure, but it looks safe. I think its one of those crabs that chill in the acropora. Completely safe.

Its not hairy.

Let someone else answer though :D

just my thoughts.
 
That's a type of acro crab (I'm afraid I don't know the species). They're perfectly reef safe, and there's some thought that they may actually be beneficial to the acro. I'd go ahead and put it right back where you found it.
 
Thanks guys I haven't been able to find anything about it the larger of teh 2 claws has some hairs on it but not many and they are both quite pointed. I really have no idea what it is but I have found several empty clam shells since this has been in the tank.
 
I agree with acro crab. very good to have as they will keep the coral healthy by fending of preditors and eat away dead tissue of the coral.
