I have no clue what this is but it is taking over parts of my tank. if someone could point me in the right direction about this please

It's hard to tell from the picture if it's a sponge or a tunicate. In either case they're filter feeders &/or DOM absorbers. If it's taking over your tank in the absence of suitable grazers you'll need to take the rocks out of the tank & manually remove it. If you try to scrub or rip it off while the rocks in the tank you'll just spread it around even faster.

Touch it and see if it recoils and closes up. If so, it is probably a tunicate, but it looks a lot like some of the lime green sponges in my system.

i touched it an it does not recoil or anything but it does have a sponge type feel, because i went to a local pet store to just check one out it looked a bit different but felt the same.

what type of grazers should i get more of?

Tangs could help, but it looks more like a spong than anything. Nothing too bad but can be a nusience.

Some of the angels are partial to sponges also.

just pull that whole rock out and bring it down to me, i'll swap it out with a sponge free rock for ya
