I've seen theese little guys through out my overflow and sump are. I always thought that they were baby Astrea conehead snails.

They look like limpets to me. I have them too. I have not noticed any negative impact. Mine are around the inflow to sump. They seem to be able to survive without being continuously submerged.

Yea, I have them too. No big deal unless you have a Plexiglass tank
They scrape films of algae from the rock with a radula, a ribbon-like tongue with rows of teeth. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radula

One of my previous Plexiglass tanks had trails all over the place from them, and a nice band just above the sand that looked frosted like a shower door.

They are limpets and are good to have in your tank.
