I wanted to know if someone could help me identify a small clam that was a hitchhiker on a piece of LR that i have. I dont have a digital camera right now so i will try to describe it the best that i can. It about 3/4L and 1/4w. in the last few months it has grown about 1/4 of a inch Longer. The bottom half is a transparent brown, where as the top half is transparent white. It stays open about 3cm all the time and appears to have really small fingers around the out edge of it. the piece of rock that it came on had a small patch of a devils finger coral on it.

Any ideas?

Any info on it would help.

Hi Russel,

Realizing the effort you've taken to describe your little beasty, it is too difficult to provide a reliable answer. Withoug being able to view the shell, you may have better luck visiting the local library and checking out a good book on shells.

Cheers,
Bob
