maybe peter, but do you know the name??

sure I do : Caracanthus madagascariensis

I have some and did keep C. unipiniata before

Cool fish! One thing that I've noticed about myself when researching these types of things is that I wind up finding more cool fish for my wish list! I've learned a lot too, found species on the web that I've never seen before, etc.

What's the next fish?

Very yellow queen angel Holocanthus ciliaris....can anyone suggest a locale?

No, it is definately a hybrid...

You mean a queen/blue hybrid, aka "townsendi"? I don't think so. The "crown" is full size, there is the full amount of both shades of blue where the dorsal and anal fins meet the caudel peduncle. And it's tough to see inthe pic, but looks like full amount of blue at he base of the pectoral fins. Just a beautiful yellow queen, IMO.

I know it's been a long time, but I came upon this thread again doing a different search on blennies, and thought it would be fun to continue. Plus, SDGuy never got an answer, so I thought I'd give it a try.

And one I wish I could ever find in a fish store:

OK, it only took me 9 years to answer this one, LOL:

Lotilia klausewitzi

Which, I'm sure everyone knows by now. I happened to cross this thread on a search for something else and remembered that I saw this fish on the Diver's Den. It sure is perty!

OK, here's one:

Wow, this one has me stumped...very difficult. Again, took me 9 years to even respond! Flagfin prawn goby maybe? Mahidolia mystacina?

Actually, look at the defined eye ring spot on the dorsal fin.... it's Lotilia graciliosa in my pic.... still not seen in the trade :(

Yeah I noticed that red ring but wasn't sure if it was a different species... I almost posted it as graciliosa...I lose this round. Kewl fish though, but wow, a lot of $! Hopefully it will show up in the trade some day for you!

I will have to come up with another good puzzle to revive this game.

One thing that I like about trying to solve such mysteries is that I learn lots of new tidbits of fishy info during the research.

Sorry it took me so long to guess!
