Saw this crab right up front a few minutes ago. he seems to be picking on the rocks the same way my emeralds do, but dont know what he is. So any help would be great

He is light brown and looks like he has seaweed attached to his head where antenna might normally be.

Thanks!

did not look like a gorilla crab as I had one of them before. This crab did not look hairy at all.

I took a bunch of pics of him this time, problem is, he matched the rock color so well he never really showed up in the pictures.

Is it an emerald crab...We had one with a slightly dirty brown/green color to him. ( I think we squeeshed him cleaning some rocks about a month ago :(

does not look like an emerald crab at all. emeralds have wider claws with flat disc like tips. the one in the pic looks like it's claws are pointed. it doesn't look reef safe. I'd toss it in the sump, if you have one.

Looks like it may be some kind of Sally Lightfoot crab. A better pic is needed. Does he run on the rock and try to leave the aquarium?

ok caught the little guy and he is currently in a cup right now. What doyou think, he looks similar to an emerald.

ok, off to the sump he goes. Last time I put a gorilla crab down there he disappeared in a day.
