Are you using Rosetta Stone by chance...?
Ive been trying to figure out what that fish is for a while now. Im guessing its temperate.

Color might indicate deep water? Seems a small red fish in the light would be an easy meal. Pure guessing at this point.

So who knows what it is, and where it's found?

It's a shallow water blenny of the family Chaenopsidae (same as the tube blennies). I will give you a more precise ID tomorrow when I check my books in the office. Any idea where the photo was taken? In general those guys are easy to collect, in the wild they feed on plankton and the few species that show up in the trade generally do well in aquaria.

Crested Blenny (Parablennius laticlavius)

Good one, you beat me to it, I thought it was a Chaenopsid, but it isn't, P. laticlavius is the correct ID. The cirri on top of the head is what made me suspect it was a Chaenopsid. Anyhow, P. laticlavius is a cold water blenny from the South Pacific (New Zealand and southern Australia).

Ah, that sucks that it lives in cold water lol, would have made a great reef tank fish if it lived in the tropics...
