ID this thing on my anthias

I was gone for 20 minutes and this showed up on my male anthias.
Anyone have any ideas as to an ID?

It's the elongate white thing on his gill plate.

Could just be lympho; but being so close to his gills also makes me think worms.

I would PM the author of this thread and ask if this looks like what he's currently battling.

I don't think its Ich. If it were me, I would take the fish out and gently rub your fingernail on the white part. See if it will come off. Beautiful colors on that fish.
