id weird wormy thing?

Ok, does anyone recognize this? It's not a clear picture, sorry. No lights on my quarantine tank and the flash kept blurring everything. It's maybe a cm wide, but very long, looks a lot like a string of sausages with the farther sausages being brown and withered. I have no idea if it's alive or not. It doesn't seem to move on being touched with an algae scraper. Any ideas?

Not as clear, but you can see the trailing off end better (standard heater cord in the background for size comparison:

Any ideas? I would like to know if I should put it in my big tank to save it, or run screaming from the house. *grin*
