Had a few of these on one rock for a while now with no problems. Recently noticed one on a rock on the other side of the tank and don't want em everywhere.There small, the mouth is about the size of a eraser on pencil. So what is it, and is it bad?
Hard to tell, when I touched em they close up fast. But the base seems hard assuming its on the rock and not just the rock I was touching. Looking at others they all seem to have little teeth like things just like the pic as there base.
Yeah that's why I asked I can see that. It resembles a Candy Cane LPS but it's not. Almost like a Dendro. Hmmm I hope someone else can chime in. I'm not an expert at identification. Looks awesome though and very doubtful that their harmful but that remains to be seem. Good Luck
It's a cup coral. Did your rock come from Florida? That's where I got my two colonies from. Feed them meaty stuff and they will spread pretty rapidly, and they color up a little too. Mine have green & brown stripes on the oral disk.
